A1/A3 and A2

The Open Category is for the majority of drone operators who are used either as a hobby or for low-risk commercial activities.

The "Open" category is in turn subdivided into three subcategories - A1, A2, A3 - which can be summarized as follows:

A1:fly over people but not over gatherings of people
A2: fly near people
A3: fly away from people


 

  • A1/A3

  • In the 'open' category, all remote pilots flying in subcategory A1\A3 must:
     

  • Be familiar with itmanufacturer's manual

  • Complete a programtheoretical educationin a SMIEA training center

  • Complete successfullytheoretical examination40 questions (pass rate 75%)

  • You then apply to the Civil Aviation Authority, which will issueCertificate of completion of the electronic education A1/A3.
